About
Gedankenflux
Gedankenflux – pronounced [ɡəˈdaŋkənˌflʊks] – is an allusion to the raw and unfiltered stream of consciousness that underlies every piece of writing on this blog. Rooted in the practice of Free Writing, gedankenflux embraces spontaneity, emotional immediacy, and the fleeting truth of a moment.
Artist statement
Gedankenflux, also known as Janina, is a Berlin-based writer who uses they/them pronouns. Their creative writing journey began in 2022, driven by a deep curiosity about identity, belonging, and urban life.
Their work often blends introspective themes with a sharp eye for the psychological and societal. Drawing from the aesthetics of Psychological Horror and the rhythms of everyday existence, Gedankenflux adresses the feeling of alienation — observing society and pop culture from an outsider’s perspective.
Their short story Echo Chamber was published in Anodyne Mag. Vol 2.
They regularly post new writing and reflections on their blog, where their thoughts find a more fluid, personal form. Gedankenflux finds inspiration in people, music, and art — moments of resonance that spark unexpected insight.

Creative Approach
All poems, flash fictions, and short stories on this blog are written freely.
Free Writing is a creative writing technique that emphasizes uninterrupted flow, allowing thoughts, emotions, and ideas to surface without censorship or overthinking. It values spontaneity over structure — and authenticity over polish.
Many texts are published without any editing to preserve their raw energy, emotional immediacy, and the truth of the moment they were written in.
Content Note
This blog addresses topics that may provoke negative reactions in some individuals. Please read the Content Note before diving into Gedankenflux‘ poems, flash fictions and short stories.

language
On this blog, you will find poems, flash fiction and short stories published in both English and German, Gedankenflux‘ first language.
inclusive language
Unlike English, German is a highly gendered language. You may notice that the language in the German texts on this blog is not gendered. The reason for this is that the focus of this blog is to bring language into a harmonious flow within the time constraints of Free Writing.
Anything that disrupts the Free Writing flow is not included in the texts published here, which also applies to gender-inclusive language. The choice to forgo gender-inclusive language does not reflect my political stance.
All readers, without exception, are invited to feel addressed by the texts published here.
